PalauLive project is the first Open Source Project(web and more) for the Republic of Palau.
All computer programming codes, ideas, and or other intellectual properties of Palaulive can be shared or copied for private or commercial use.
All we ask is a small donation or a web link to us or to share with your friends about us.
*Warning: All other companies, logos and their intellectual properties are covered by their own copyrights.

Programming codes for downloads includes xml, javascript, php, witango, jsp, servlet, asp, sql and others.
You can download them in bundles or individually in a .zip or .tar files.

Some tools and technology behind this website.
|
|
|
We use Witango, "an IDE and Application Server" to create presentations, and some core business logic.
For design, we use Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, Java Applets, and Javascript.
For business logic we develop using Eclipse IDE or plain ascii text editor. Some software programming and scripting used are minimal Java J2EE, Apache Struts, Apache Ant, Java JMS, Soap, shell/vb/bat scripting, xml, c++ (mingw) and .NET technology.
Our databases are ms access, r-base, postgreSql', and mysql (used more often).
We develop all applications following OOP style.
We run our Apache2.0.52 (Win32) HTTPD Webservers on windows box. Our backup web server, and cvs server is on GNU/Linux(Debian).
Our network OS / server is Novell Netware 6.5 Here are some hardware specs... File Server Hardware: Intel® Xeon Processor MP, 130 nm process technology, 32-bit, and thats all I can share about our lan's software/hardware for now.

Our goal at PalauLive.com is to provide the best ever Internet news coverage for Palau, Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia, Oceania, and eventually expand the globe. We'll start with news from Palau, Micronesia, and general Oceania, and some world news coverage. We have finally reached the implementation stage of our project. The idea was formed back in the mid 1990's when I was trying to find something to contribute to Palau as well as start a solid business that would hopefully benefit people of Palau and many others. I continued to think about it very much, but back then, I had too many other priorities in my life.
Some years ago (late '99 to early 2000), I began to put forth more rigorous time and effort to research for various business opportunities. I initially thought it would be a mildly complex task, but instead it turned out to be much more complex and time consuming process. Hours upon hours of research, reading various materials, internet search, planning, and many legal advice were sought to support my many ideas. I found out what many other entrepreneurs, and business enthusiast in the past and today have come to face. There comes a time when you realize you must push yourself forward and take strategic risks. Most risks are calculated but sometimes you just have to go with your own personal instincts. It could break or make your business endeavour successfull. Hopefully the latter otherwise, hey, tomorrow is another day for another shot at success.
Palau is booming with countless business opportunities for motivated self-doers. There are many opportunities that require minimal capital for start up. If you have substantial capital value or assets to begin with, it would help enormously. However, chances for success do not rely solely on capital strength (as we all know). Undoubtedly, however, capital influence does have a considrable impact on people, businesses, governments, policies, etcetra, etcetra...
At PalauLive.com, we believe that good planning (including your feedback), diligence, working intelligently, and consistent open communication between all parties will eventually lead to success. So after careful strategic planning, we are taking a very calculated step forward by engaging in the arena of e-business. Statistically, the ratio for success in this realm is not encouraging, but we feel that we have adequate resources as well as dependable cooperatives (Palauans, Micronesians, and hopefully many of you out there) to help and support our website(which is yours also) in any which way possible. We really appreciate it.
An archipelago, Palau is renowned for its world class diving mecca with crystal clear waters, exotic under water sea creatures (many have not yet been documented by the science world), exotic animals and birds, and warm tropical weather. It is considered one of the world's most romantic getaways, and due to it's pristine beaches and warm hearted inhabitants has become a highly coveted travel destination. Because of these unique and desirable characteristics of Palau, our project scope is centered on the tourism industry as well. We are dedicated to improving Palau's online news coverage firstly (hence, we feel it could be changed for the better too) so we welcome your input and any other ideas, business endeavors, or opportunities that would help the people of Palau, Micronesia, Oceania, and even the whole World. Yes, we dream small and big here, but we also strive to realize our dream.
